Family Health

Clinics are run once a month on a Friday afternoon with Dr Dunstan.

Please make an appointment at reception for a consultation for contraception advice and/or the fitting of an IUD or implant.

These are free of charge on the NHS.

Sexual Health

Clinics are run once or twice a month on a Thursday morning.

Please make an appointment at reception for a consultation for contraception advice and/or the fitting of an IUD or implant.

These are free of charge on the NHS.

Blood Clinic

We still do a blood clinic on a Monday morning from 8.15am until 12pm, please ring reception to make an appointment and bring any relevant paperwork with you.

Travel Vaccinations

Please give your travel information to our receptionists who will in turn pass this onto one of our nurses who will be happy to prescribe a private prescription for any travel vaccinations required.

Vaccines may then be purchased from any pharmacy and brought with you for your appointment for the nurse to administer them. 

  • Cost of a private prescription is £15.00 per person.
  • Cost to administer is £20.00 per person. 
  • Cost to administer a family (2 adults & 2 children) is £50.00
  • Cost to administer for a backpacker (multiple appointments) is £40.00

Private Work (including Medicals)

Your Doctor is happy to carry out private medical examinations in connection with insurance, sports or driving. A fee is payable and the rates are displayed in reception. Please contact reception in the first instance if you require such a medical. 

Sick Notes

A Doctor’s sick note is not required for absences of less than 14 days. For absences lasting less than 14 days a self-certification note, otherwise known as an SC1 form, should be completed and returned to your employer. These forms are available from the surgery.

If you have been issued with a sick note by your doctor and find you are still unfit for work please make an appointment to see the doctor.

A Doctor’s letter is not required unless your employer specifically asks for one. You will be charged for this letter but you may be able to reclaim the cost from your employer.

The Doctor will NOT issue you with a repeat sick note over the telephone nor will you be offered an emergency appointment for repeat sick notes.

When making your appointment for a repeat sick note, please take into account weekends and bank holidays.

Sick notes CAN be backdated.

Minor Surgery Clinic

Minor operations can be carried out at the Practice by a Doctor. Please discuss this with your doctor who will then arrange for you to be given an appointment.

Family Planning/ Sexual Health Clinic

Please make an appointment at reception for a consultation for contraception advice and/or the fitting of a IUD or implant.  These are free of charge on the NHS.

Baby Clinic

Babies are due for a check up with the doctor at around 8 weeks of age and at the same time will see the Practice Nurse for their first immunisations. Baby clinic at the Practice is run on a Wednesday morning. The Practice Nurse will advise you when further immunisations are due.

Antenatal Clinic

If you think you may be pregnant please see your GP in the first instance who will make arrangements for you to be seen by the Consultant Obstetrician at Nobles Hospital. The Antenatal Clinic at the Practice is run by a midwife on Tuesday mornings. A postnatal check is due when baby is 6 weeks old. Please make an appointment with the Doctor.
